The location of the hotel is central to the octagon and the huge dining options available.
It was a quick check in and an easy check out the following morning. Staff were all welcoming and friendly.
Our breakfast was included and there was a good spread of choice.
The room itself was spacious. Our twin accommodation included two double beds that were comfortable.
The bathroom was of adequate size, good water pressure and soft towels.

Arrived to the most arrogant of Reception Staff. Every question we asked ie rooms close together, car parking etc her answer was NO & delivered with a smirk . Went to rooms which were comfortable but walls need an uplift of colour & light socket on wall was filthy. Hubby went to reception, met same Receptionist in lift on way down, showed her photo he had taken , she smirked again & answer was ‘Housekeeping Gone Home’ at this hubby told her ‘not my problem & it is going to be sorted - now’ ! Met my friend downstairs & immediately she said ‘I don’t like that receptionist, bad attitude. Problem sorted 2 free drinks . Loved loved Dunedin & staff everywhere were wonderful, helpful, happy but that one girl needs taking back to ‘training’ . Apart from initial problems, we were very happy ..

Comfy room with nice large queen sized bed. Great view over harbour. Good sized bathroom with complimentary bath stuff. Plenty of storage space. Easy walk to pubs and restaurants. Lovely town with lots to see, including Lanarch Castle and many other historic buildings.

Very centrally located. Parking might be a problem - you can book parking at the hotel in advance - and that is a good idea - we had to park another place.
Rooms fine, bathrooms OK - no noise at your room.
Breakfast is buffet style - and is acceptable.

I was room 715, AC, spacious, study table for my computer gear, dinner table, lighting, comfortable, spent 3 nights. down in Dunedin on Business. All amenities within. WIFI was easy and unlimited. I had swordfish one night and rump steak with mushroom sauce two nights, so delicous. All the staff were friendly, courteous, helpful and professional. Attired regal standard.I had an amazing conversation with one of the wait staff who is studying neuroscience psychology, my back ground is forensic psychology. Breakfast was declicous, cooked for 3 mornings. Overweight now, jogging it off. Thanks Scenic Hotel. I'm from the North Island.
