Decided to check in for the night after 6wks on the road and got upgraded - booked through booking.com and cannot complain. Clean, tidy and reception lady very helpful and friendly. Parked van in one of the designated free parking spots - all good so far !
It’s not my first stay at this hotel. We selected this hotel due to free parking and the central location. We prepaid breakfast at the rate of 25AUD pp. What was provided - it wasn’t worth the price. Apparently, a cooked buffet is provided during the week and continental over the weekend - at the same charge. Plain Croissants, although tasteful, were the only hot option at the so called “buffet”. The bar was closed at 8.15 pm. The room was renovated, but windows and balcony remember the previous century and scream desperately for an intervention. No fan or air conditioning. At the checkout they were trying to overcharge me - when I asked for the itemisation of my bill, I couldn’t get a straight answer. After sorting out the bill, we left, possibly for good. Unsure whether we will be back, as the hotel clearly is cost cutting.
We stayed a couple of days in this hotel and the experience was rather disappointing. Everythin was just not okay. A rather poor housekeeping and although breakfast was included you had to pay for a decent cup of coffee. No posibilities for having a drink due to closed services which had not been mentioned at the booking. We would like to visit Dunedin onze more but most certainly will not stay in this hotel again.
If I had of known that the hotel was on a hill we would never have booked there. Extremely difficult to find the entrance. The driveway is very narrow and is one way only so if you have a vehicle behind you waiting, you have to drive out and go all the way around again. The parking there is a nightmare also.
I will not be staying here again. There is no soundproofing. It was like the walls were made of paper. People in next room talked and played loud music until midnight and were up at 6am.
Do not recommend.
