We came here for brunch following the Pink concert and it was insanely busy. We managed to nab a table straight away. Food was delicious, in particular the kumara mash. It was amazing how well this cafe runs while being so busy. The queues were cleared fast and the food came so quickly. Definitely check these guys out while in Dunedin.

The title says it all. George Street's Good Oil Cafe, and its sister cafe inside Nichol's Garden Centre in Anderson's Bay, has a relaxed atmosphere, grand coffee, and imaginative food.

There is a regular blackboard menu with strengths in the brunch market together with appetising cabinet food and a speciality in club sandwiches.

This cafe is smallish and compact, but intimate and vibrant. It's a convenient meeting place for brunch or light lunch, and its foodstuffs reflect the local cuisine and culture.

Good oil has been around for as long as i remember - finally gave it a go. Ordered a $12.5 salad which i was disappointed with. Would have been happy paying around $7.5 for the amount served. Service wasn't bad but not worth noting. Had 2 rounds of coffee, both flat whites. Coffee is a touchy one with lots of grey area but for me was just average. Also tried their brownie and regretted. Cosy cafe, found myself doing a lot of squeezing around tables and moving for others but that could also be due to my size!

Cinnamon scroll seems to be a staple in Kiwi cafes, and the one I had at the Good Oil has to be the best I’ve had in ages. The coffee was also nice.
