An experience you won't forget! So much to see here, and there's bound to be something to interest everyone - allow a good hour.
This eclectic collection of all sorts of bones, skeletons, desiccated animals, and Bruce Mahalski's unique bone and coral art, is interspersed with vintage kitsch dolls, curios from Seacliff mental asylum, paranormal artefacts and much more.
The labels tell the often intriguing or quirky background and origins of each exhibit, and the old Otago Museum display cases are perfect.
Bruce also sells some of his art, plus t-shirts, books etc.
A really good museum. Well organised and well researched
Is a real must for those who want to know about Dunedin and Otago peninsula
Kids and adults will both enjoy this experience
It was the best place that we visited in Dunedin NZ.
Alot of info, Nice collection and the owner did really really hard work collecting all the bones, skulls and designing the arts in the place.
Really recommend it!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. So many interesting exhibits and the art was stunning. Merchandise was decently priced and of a high standard. Absolutely recommend visiting if you are in Dunedin
An outstanding museum, full of natural history and oddities, well laid out and will keep you fascinated for hours. Spend about two hours there.
Full of surprises, wonders and weirdness, this museum should be at the top of any visitor's list when in Dunedin. Dunedin Museum of Natural Mystery is more than a cabinet of curiosities, it is a true museum of discovery, where objects open up worlds of intrigue and new ideas.
Each room is packed with all kinds of unusual objects covering a wide range of subject matter that will interest anyone.
