Dated but tidy, clean and comfortable motel. Enjoyed a great night's sleep. Location within easy walk of CBD. Hosts Amy & Stephen gave outstanding service - helpful and friendly. Top marks to them! Easy access from this motel to Hospital, University, Museum, George Street (main city retail area)...these are to the south...also to the north handy to Botanical Gardens. There is also an excellent café (The Good Earth) nearby. All in all a very good location.
Date of stay: October 2018
Room Tip: Cumberland Street busy...rear units probably quieter.

We requested a ground floor unit as we had preschoolers and staying for 11 nights.
Our unit was not one of the ones that have been renovated but had everything we needed and the ground floor suited us better than trying to get preschoolers, stroller, shopping etc up the 2 flights of steps everyday.
Probably within a 500m radius there's a dairy, bakery, heaps of take away shops, petrol station,
botanical gardens and supermarket. It's convenient to city centre, hospital and museum.
Staff are super friendly, the units clean and are serviced everyday.
Don't fool yourself, you're on the main road going south and surrounded by uni flats, there will be some noise at some point but we never had trouble going to sleep at night.

The narrow drive entrance off a busy one way street is not easy to negotiate for bigger vehicles. On entering our two bedroom unit very disappointed. Old dirty stained carpet and kitchen cupboards looked like card board. The dirty dusty blind above the kitchen sink could only be closed if we stood on the bench. We did not touch it. Queen bedroom no better. A almost empty water bottle sitting on bedside table and when I pulled the bed out to plug in the bed warmer paper and a lot of dust on the floor. Our room had not been dusted or vacuumed before our arrival. I would not recommend any one stay here.

We needed a bed and this motel was on state highway 1. Bed was comfy but room dated but clean. The noise was from other visitors rather than the road. Easy walk to dairy but long walk to town. Expensive for a budget motel.

Room tip: Upstairs as bottom room is noisy.

We needed a few rooms close to town - and this was perfect.

A very reasonable price for 3 singles and a double bed in 2 separate rooms- all comfortable.

turned up late - but heating was already turned on and room was cosy.

Easy to find near the university and museum

really friendly staff and couldn't be more helpful.

rooms are tidy and comfortable - and for the price point - you probably don't get any better in Dunedin

Booked this because had 2 rooms and separate lounge - can't fault housekeeping- clean and tidy. Decor and premises bit dated. Free wifi. Our unit was cold on arrival and took some time to get warmed up, very grateful for electric blankets at night.
Traffic noise could definitely be a problem if you are a light sleeper - we were quite near front but think that would be similar in most units given location.
Reasonable value for the layout we needed to cater for our family.
