Room was tidy, comfortable, and a great break from traveling/living in a campervan.

Though the room may be a bit more than other local places, here's what I liked about Azena:

1. They were rated the highest for near the lowest $ per night.
2. Washer and Dryer was included! After weeks in a van, it's great to stay indoors and have a private laundry, at no additional cost.
3. 1 GB of wifi for free, $5 for each additional GB.
4. Decent sized kitchen with dorm sized fridge, two burner electric range, toaster, and minimal dishes.
5. Staff was friendly and quick to make sure any issues (light bulb burnt out) were corrected quickly.
6. Shower was just large enough for a 194cm (6'-4") man.
7. Plenty of space for bags.

Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor room if you have a lot of bags.

We had a family visit for one night only, thank our luck.
The motel is modern, well equipped and has a great location.
The odour in our room ruined our stay and the kids were quite upset about it. The person in charge of the desk when we left didn't understand how smelly it was. The owner negotiated a $80 reimbursement for the disgusting smell.
The room was huge and well furnished in a modern style.
Man it stunk!

Large clean rooms that had everything you needed including, kitchenette, sky, washing machine and dryer. Our room was warm private and quiet so would happily stay there again. Reception could be a tad more helpful, no directions to room or helpful information but pleasant enough.

Spent two nights here during our stay in Christchurch. Provided with assistance upon our arrival with nearby attractions and areas to eat (we were lucky to be near some great restaurants and food spots ), very friendly and helpful. Good large room with balcony (on the second floor). We were further away from the street so it was quiet at night. The bed linen seemed a little tired and worn out, but bed quality was good enough for a nights sleep.

Washing machine and dryer provided which was a bonus, especially for longer stays. A wide variety of towels provided, in a very clean bathroom. Kitchen had everything that we needed too, nice and clean with most crockery and utensils provided.

Free WiFi was a plus, 1GB per day, which was more than sufficient.

Good value for money for a good quality accommodation, would stay here again again if visiting Christchurch again.

Room Tip: stay in the rooms further from the road, as it can get a bit loud. upper floor is nice, as you can get the sunlight

The room was spacious and being upstairs had a nice balcony. Unfortunately, the outdoor seats were very rusty and unreliable. Free WiFi and the added bonus of a washing machine and dryer which was just what we needed as we were travelling around NZ for three weeks. Took the bus into the city; bus stops close by.

Strangely, the room was only partly serviced, ie one litter bin cleaned out but not the other one. Beds not made but clean towels left. Not complaining, just saying.
