We had a great time with Josie our tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and gave us great insight into old and new Christchurch. We had a small group which was lovely too. Highly recommend!

As we only had one full day in Christchurch, we chose this tour as a way to get a quick overview with “feet on the ground”. Joan was our guide and we spent almost 3 hours with her. As it was just my husband and I and one other person, it was pretty much a private tour. She showed us the city, told us how things had changed since the earthquake, plus we learned a lot about life in New Zealand. Her love for and desire to share her city was evident. She showed great interest in us as well. By the end of the tour, we were more like friends than guide/customer!!!

"It was a pleasure to take you around the city. The weather looked threatening but we didn’t need those raincoats. I am glad you enjoyed the walk so much.”

Murray was our guide, and was really excellent. He clearly has a deep love for Christchurch, and on persistent questioning revealed that he has a PhD in architectural history. He took us round some key places, and was really interesting about historical and architectural elements.
He was very informative about the earthquake, the economic/architectural/social consequences, and about the recovery process.
Nice dry sense of humour, and a very friendly attitude
Top marks for this tour - and great value for money.

My wife and I really enjoyed the morning tour we did with Bruce. I understand the tour guides are volunteers and we could really feel the passion Bruce has for his hometown. The tour lasted just over 2.5 hours and we felt we saw a lot of the downtown area and learned a tremendous amount about Christchurch, it’s history and the impact of the 2011 earthquake, and the rebuilding efforts. We would recommend this tour to anyone wishing to enjoy a fresh air walk around this interesting area. At NZ$20 per person, the tour was a bargain.
