Wifi died, not happy

Wifi stopped working at 8am, has been 12 hours waiting, still isn’t working. Had to turn on my data so I could receive communications from my tour. The restaurant across the street has no problem with wifi working. Front desk said they could do nothing. Netflix didn’t work…..not impressed!!!!!!!

The wifi is back and working it was a fault from the provider their system was down which has been rectified.

Great stay! Staff amazing - was able to score a great Grabone deal for theee nights including breakfast. Needed to make some changes due to another family member last minute joining us and nothing was a problem ! Early check in unexpected and gladly taken up. Brekkie from the bEaley was beaut and on the Saturday able to have buffet brekkie due to the Rugby World Cup All Blacks match was awesome! Stayed in courtyard studio - backing onto the lodge. Room comfortable enough. Clean and well serviced room. Walls are a bit thin and can hear laughing from
next door - but no bus loads staying in the lodge so was reasonably quiet. Bealey Ave is a main thoroughfare so can be quite a few street sounds (sirens and fast cars) but wasn’t a problem. Parking you may move your vehicle around . Grounds are clean and loads of amenities to use and a discount at the Bealey! Massive shout out to Isha, Katie and the morning bealey staff that treated us like kings!

Room tip: Don’t forget to use your 10% discount with your room key at the Bealey and need assistance just ask the staff really accommodating.

I found the female duty manager to be rude and disrespectful. The place has poor parking so I Parked where I could as the alternative was to walk a significant distance to get to my room in the rain.

I accept the place I parked wasn't ideal but it was the attitude of the manager that was appalling. Rather than ask if I could move the car or ask why I parked there she whinged like a 5 year old kid!

I also found the rooms cold and for a place like Christchurch there should be electric blankets on the bed. We also ran out of towels, and went to reception to get some towels and the duty manager told us we would need to wait until cleaning staff come in. Shocking customer service!

Room tip: Dont take a car - parking is terrible!

The food was excellent, service even better and it was good to see in the smart bar that this is also a St Albans hub. I had cod, my friend had beef. Both were cooked well and the place was full on a Wednesday. In July the heating is important and we were not cold.

Disappointing meal in many ways. Food delivered didn't match what was written on the menu, and in fact when questioned about it, we were told they didn't have the items! Food undercooked (medium rare steak was more raw than cooked, not quite blue), I advised I had an allergy to fresh tomatoes which they did remember but then my meal came out the half the items missing - no offer of replacement sauce, and not sure why some of the other items were missing. Quantity of food was good although I'm guessing they are experiencing a potato shortage by the fries portion.
Wait staff were wonderful which bought this review up to a 3, and when asked for the sauce, custard, etc they did their best to try and fix it, generally with another item.
Considering above the food was expensive for what it was. Atmosphere was warm and friendly.

I booked this place for more than 4–5 times and didn’t notice anything worse like this. Our visit was on the 25th February. I booked 2 rooms for me and my friend.
We checked in at around 3.30 and open the door and noticed the disaster. Rooms were same as how the last occupant left it. From bed to everything is a mess. I still took it easy and walk to the reception. There was a guy name TARIK lately found out he is the manager. I told him what it is and he didn’t even apologies or look at my face. And then he asked me “so what?”
That’s his reply and it sounds like “if u wanna fight let’s fight “
There’s a house keeping manager step in and talked to us nicely and said that it was a busy day and will ready the rooms as soon as possible. So we took our bags down to the car and went out to town for a drive till the rooms ready.
we waited an hour and come to the room. If not wrong it was room number 41-42.
I went for shower and unbelievable the shower area started to flood. I stoped my shower as water start to over flow and filled up other parts of the bathroom. So I faster went to other room to continue my shower. My wife do the same.
I didn’t go to reception as I was worried about facing the gangster like manager.
So I came home and wrote. Then he replied with $100 refund. I refused as that’s not justify the inconvenience we experienced.
After then no reply at all.
I often travel to Nz / Australia and singapore for work replayed trips. But this was the worst one as they didn’t do anything to recover yet react terrible manner to the guest.
TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE

Room tip: Check the guy name TARIK is the manager if he is then pls don’t book.

Upon further investigation, it was noted that you initially booked Two Double Studios rooms, requesting accommodation for 2 adults and 2 kids in each room. Unfortunately, due to health and safety regulations, we regretfully had to refuse this arrangement.

Additionally, we understand the frustration regarding the early check-in request. Regrettably, the rooms were not ready at that time, and we appreciate your understanding during this inconvenience.
