My husband and I had heard that it was best to make a booking in advance and luckily we did. We dined on Friday, 15 July and the restaurant was almost full at 7.30pm. The greeting upon our arrival was warm and efficient and we were seated promptly.
Our lovely French waitress was so professional and effusive in her service without being intrusive. My husband had the chicken salad for starter and the beef fillet for main. I had the calamari with chickpeas for starter and the venison loin for main. All of our dishes were generous and beautifully seasoned. Both main meals had meat that was melt in the mouth delicious and cooked to perfection. My calamari was tender & tasty so I was glad to have ordered that. The wine list is extensive and you have the whole range from the lower tiers through to the Man O War and Felton Road reds which are stunning.
All in all we loved our experience here and would definitely come back. Yes it's a bit noisy, but I think that adds to the ambience. We would definitely come back for the top notch service & beautiful food.
