The room we have stayed was excellent. Room 107. The lady at the check in -Jasmine- was super friendly and helpful. The restaurant's menu can improve. The menu does not meet the expectations from a wonderful hotel. I would recommend them to have more salad options, more healthier dishes. Till then perhaps it is good idea to try the other restaurants in town.

We stayed 10 nights in New Zealand's South Island staying in boutique intimate 5 star hotels. Hotel Montreal was our favourite. Large, beautiful, well appointed and decorated rooms. Plenty of space. Luxurious enormous King bed, large TV's and a kitchenette. The bathroom was spacious, 2 basins, a bath and fantastic shower. We couldn't have been happier. The staff were very friendly and helpful making the time to chat without feel pressured or rushed. The location is great, being so close to the botanical gardens and close to the rest of the city and tram stop. We ate dinner in the restaurant and were very pleased with what was served. A hotel very difficult to fault!

We were on a Grand Pacific Small groups tour of New Zealand. On arrival in Christchurch the first day/night 9 November 2016, we were transferred to this Hotel in lieu of our previously booked The George Hotel, as that hotel was booked out by a Scandinavian Royal family and its entourage and some USA government dignitary. ( we did get to stay there however on our second visit to Christchurch later on the tour and I have written a review on that one. This quaint boutique hotel was very friendly, , only 3 levels, and had massive rooms, the size of a suite in other 5 star hotels. Most comfortable bed and facilities, one could easily stay there for weeks. Dinner was satisfactory, a bit slow on the service for our group of 20 persons. Breakfast however was basic which is Ok BUT the service was so slow and the staff seemed bewildered by having a group needing breakfast more or less at the same time. Orders were mucked up, others never arrived or arrived far too late. , but the staff nevertheless was polite and friendly.

Room Tip: Best rooms for views are to the the park, cant say whether its north or south, east or west.

Our accommodations were some of the nicest we had over our 2 weeks in NZ for our family vacation. The room is very large and the bed was amazing. The view out the front of the hotel is nothing special (empty lot) but not much you can do about that. We were welcomed with drink voucher each which was a nice surprise. I would stay here again

Beautifully decorated, friendly staff, good location. Very nice toiletries and coffee and tea. The restaurant should improve on the quality of the food offered for breakfast. I wish there had been a little more guidance on available activities and restaurants during the Christmas holiday.
