A really lovely place, great location near shops and not far to walk to town centre. Also easy access to airport. The studio was really clean and spacious. Owners were great and very helpful. Highly recommend

Review of Merivale Manor

Merivale Manor is a fabulous place to stay in a great location. The rooms are warm, clean and well appointed. The property and grounds are immaculately presented and there is plenty of off-street parking. Wayne and Karen are wonderful hosts who went out of their way to assist when our travel plans changed. I can’t recommend Merivale Manor highly enough and would not stay anywhere else.

A really great hotel the owners are warm and accomodating the rooms stylish roomy and comfortable. The Manor was built in 1882 and has been renovated and furnished in gtreat style.
The owners are extremely helpful and can’t do enough for you to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
It is in walking distance of the town centre with plenty of food and other shops .
I highly recommend the Monor and will be back when I visit Christchurch.

Merivale Manor deserves it high praise..
I stayed three nights in the Manor House in a beautiful room upstairs which was sunny & secure. Very convenient to Merivale Village & easy walk into the city centre.
The room is beautifully decorated, bed luxurious and the shower is exceptional.
The hosts are very welcoming & the property is fastidiously maintained.

Thoroughly enjoyed 3 nights at Merivale Manor. First night was pre-knee surgery,
I stayed in a studio apartment which was clean and well equipped.
Post surgery, I stayed in the Merivale Manor house. Beautifully refurbished, the ground floor apartment was the perfect place to relax and recuperative from surgery. Wayne and Karen were very kind making sure I had what I needed. The room was spacious, peaceful, and restorative. The morning to afternoon sun streaming in through the windows is just what I needed each day. The manor house is quiet, clean, and inspiring. Highly recommend for visitors to Christchurch or for those looking for the perfect post surgery healing place. Great location as it is close to shops, restaurants, take away, St. George's hospital and groceries.
I've stayed in several Christchurch hotels/motels for business over the past 6 years. Merivale Manor is the best!
Room tip: Quiet, accessibility, check out the Manor house rooms!

High grade personable hospitality and classic establishment; exquisitely preserved. Terrific doorstep access to a vibrant urban scene, cafe's, mall, gardens, boutiques and restaurants. Rooms were beautiful and clean with a cosy but spacious vibe. The hosts were on hand for friendly local advice or requests. Merivale Manor is a vintage Christchurch landmark,... preserving the bygone era of when things were done properly and how it should be when you expect quality from service through to the facilities. We will be back again soon for sure.
