This is a seriously good motel. The units are sheer luxury and extremely well maintained. The grounds are immaculate. The service is beyond exceptional; very friendly, informative and welcoming.
The location is very close to the shops and the beach. There are plenty of food options within 100 metres. The main road is just outside the gate but there is virtually no noise.

Don't change a thing!

Cozy, warm and complete studio bedroom for our overnight in Sumner on a rainy winter day. Being inside the room we didn’t notice the cold or noise in fact it was a comfortable oasis. The hotel is central to everything in Sumner including restaurants (dinner and breakfast) and the adjacent movie theatre. The host is friendly and helpful, including instructing us to override the energy savings key because of the cold. The shower has good water pressure, the bed is firm but far from too hard and the sheets, towels and so on in good condition. Netflix not Sky though not put to use. Same with wifi. The hotel was sufficiently modern, new and complete nothing more to add. It was just the right setup to suit our requirements in checking in and checking out, still an advantage of motels over Airbnb. Just an enjoyable stay, thanks.

Good Morning Steven
Thank you very much for your kind and honest review. We both believe there is nothing more unwelcoming than a guest walking into a cold room, especially this time of year.
Hope to see you again some time. Regards Roger and Kay

Stopped the night (14th April 18), good location, 2 mins from the beach, very friendly, room immaculate, plenty of places to eat - would recommend the ‘Beach’ restaurant on the front both for evening and breakfast meals ( suggested by motel). Would definitely stay again.

My husband had stayed here numerous times on business trips in the past so this was an easy pre book choice for us. This time though it was new owners and Roger could not have been more accommodating. A great welcome and very ready to help throughout our stay. The one bedroom apartment was bright and clean and well equipped with Netflix tv. The bed was comfortable and bathroom spotless. Sumner has good local facilties including a choice of eateries. Will definitely return when next in Christchurch.

Last minute booking in high season so we were lucky to get a split level one bed apartment for two nights. Spotless and well equipped self catering accommodation. Netflix etc apps so we had a vast range of films for the TV. Useful when cowering from the summer heat outside although we also resorted to our own balcony at other times and when there was a breeze. The motel is conveniently located for the beach (approximately 100m away over the road) and Sumner's amenities - but this meant the road noise was noticeable at times. Owner Roger was pleasant to chat to and always ready to assist. Highly recommended for a problem-free stay.

Room tip: The split level rooms have a good layout

Thank you for your lovely review, we agree that at rush hour times the road is quite busy as this is the main road out of Sumner but it does become quieter as people go to work. Hope to see you again soon Regards Roger and Kay
