Great fusion food with best views of river but very expensive. Staff were good too but please make booking in advance as they are very busy during peak hours and may have to wait for sometime.

We were told by our Amiki Tours guide, Riwai, that this was the best restaurant in all of Christchurch. He was definitely not wrong. We could not get a reservation, so we tried walking in early; and we were promptly seated at the bar. Really, really good Asian fusion food; and since we were seated at the bar, a comprehensive course in NZ alcoholic beverages. Everyone should eat here if they are in Christchurch to enjoy a good meal.

I won't go in to all the gory details, but this restaurant rests on the H word for its success: Hype-- when it should be Hospitality.

None of the latter was ever extended to us.

A few of many details: We were told twice in the first ten minutes that we were given 2 hours for dinner.
The service was extremely slow, and we watched the clock tick away.
Servers were almost sprinting through the restaurant with very intense, thumping music that was unrelenting. My husband and I, on a special vacation, could not carry on a conversation.

My main course was finally served, but before my husband's, making for the loss of a shared meal.

The food was mediocre. My neighborhood Thai restaurant does as well--for 1/3 the cost. And I get a welcoming and hospitable environment with them.

When we finally got a server's attention to bring our bill, they had to bring the ticket to us three times before the correct one was presented.

It was pouring heavy rain as we left, and we asked the doorman where we could wait for our taxi while out of the rain. He said flippantly, "Turn to the left and make a run for it. You'll be fine." My husband is 81. I'm not alot younger. This was impertinent and callous.

We felt devalued and rudely treated. Having waited so long, this was a disappointment-- and a personal embarrassment--to be treated in such a rough way.

Forget this place. It's not worth your time. You are certainly not worth theirs. Go to Bistro 50.

Probably the most mediocre experience since we arrived in New Zealand
Server seemed to avoid us as if we were an old boyfriend she didn’t want to see.
Had to chase her just to get a ginger beer
Food service was excruciatingly slow
Not sure why it took 15 minutes for a cold spinach wrap but the people seated after us got their full meal including fries before our cold entree came
Duck was quite good albeit sweet
Spinach wraps very ordinary
String beans undercooked. More like a raw dish
They doled out water as if it was a rare commodity.

At best average

We would have been better off in the food court below

Oh we were told we couldn’t sit outside because they were fully booked an hour later 50% of the tables outside unoccupied
