We stayed in the motel side, which is a bit older as it survived the earthquakes, although it was still renovated in 2013. The room was clean and had everything we needed, including a kitchenette so we could cook for ourselves, and the bed was amazingly comfortable! The #28 bus from the Central Bus Station goes past every 15-20 minutes and even goes up to the Northland Shopping Centre at Papanui if you want to do a bigger shop and the bus ticket will allow you a free transfer to return within 2 hours. There is plenty of car parking, which was great when we picked up our freebie 'rental relocation' vehicle for the next leg to Picton and is it s 12-seater!! Haha! I could even meet all my unavoidable work commitments with wifi that did not let me down at all, day or night. The lady who manages the place is fantastic and soooo friendly and helpful (and I feel bad I don't know her name). I would definitely stay here if I visit Christchurch again.

I stay here monthly for work as I'm not a fan of being in a multi storey building in Christchurch. The cottages are small & quaint, with queen size beds, kitchens in them all, big screen tv, small lounge chairs, outdoor deck with seats, and shower and toilets. The beds are comfy which is great. The negatives are that there's no wardrobes to hang clothes, no sky tv, wifi isn't the best (slow sometimes), the bathroom is set up as wet room with Lino flooring & the drain often doesn't keep up with shower so while floor gets wet. The hosts are an Indian couple and are pleasant to deal with.

Thank you very much for the great feedback!
We have installed fiber broadband recently to fix the problem of slow WIFI. Also we have added two more routers as well.
For hanging cloths we have wall mount tracks in cottages. We have wardrobes in the studios and one bedroom apartments. We have spare coat tracks or garment racks we can provide you on request.
Currently we have 3 sky channels sky sport, movies and UK BBC tv.

Actually we are from Sri Lanka and great to hear you enjoy our service!

Look forward to see you again!

We had two nights here in a spacious unit with seoarate bedroom and combined kitchen, living and sitting area including a single bed. staff were helpful and happily so. There is a bus at the door running at 15min intervals to the city, Lyttleton and Papanui.
Supermarket and good restaurants are a short walk. Definitely a recommend. The only negative was that the toilet, vanity and shower open into the entry corridor which can be closed both ends to form a bathroom, but with more than two, or an unexpected visitor, this could be embarrassing.

We stayed for one night after an evening flight into Christchurch. Our cottage was very clean, quiet and secluded, and the bed comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped, and we would have been very happy to have had a longer stay and made more use of it, had our travel plans allowed. There are several restaurants within a few minutes walk of the motel, as well as a small supermarket. The owner was delightful, very friendly and helpful. Overall these cottages are good value.
