We spent the morning wandering around the park taking in the various fascinating exhibits. These were restored cottages and shops, a huge collection of fire engines and a working print shop and model train layout. Volunteers staff the collections and are so willing to share their knowledge and passion. The tram trip goes round the site and ends up at a couple of old carriages made into baches. Good fun!
This is a real deal volunteer run authentic working museum and restoration centre. So many different aspects from an incredible collection of vintage fire engines, to historic aircraft under restoration. A real trip down memory lane for anyone aged 50 or more and a real education for the kids. Great printing press experience and other educational stuff disguised as fun ! Well worth it.
A little hidden gem to visit. Historical village with authentic houses, church ,shops, etc and lots to see and discover .worth a visit
Fantastic displays of old homes and church. Model railway was great as was the transport displays. Wish we could have stayed longer.
We went there as a family in February this year as a family and thought it was a very interesting place to visit. It is set up very well and the Displays were great. We went on both the Tram and Railcar. My only complaint was there was no place where you could buy food etc other than at the entrance and only had drinks and chips, we had a high tea which wasn’t cheap for a family. Other than that, I would suggest that they put on their web site there is no food stalls. There is plenty of places to have picnic if you brought your own food etc and several toilets. It takes around four hours minimum to visit. We would go there again but will bring our own food next time. Murray C
