Went a for a couple of hours with the toddler. I think I enjoyed it more. Unfortunately most of the displays were shut, but peering in through windows was great.

Ferrymead was much more vibrant and happening back in the 80's. Even though we went on an event day, there was little happening and was disappointing. Won't be back.

If you like Trams, Trains, and nostalgia, this is worth a look. Something for all the family here, rides, food, Icecreams.
Prices are reasonable, family passes available. Open most days, Trams run on holidays and weekends, steam trains are not always running, check the their website. Get a group together and dress for the 1920s.

Lots to do here and has many interesting attractions. The steam train was very good.

Enjoyed the many older houses that are all well laid out as they would have looked 100+ years ago.

Entry cost for 2 Seniors, another Adult, and 2 children was $55.00. This included an extra $20 for the day which was a Steam Train running day. On the displayed admission price notice we should have been charged $42.50.

A theatrical operation which provides teas/coffee and choice of food was excellent - this attracts an extra charge but was worth it.

On the day we visited a number of the attractions were not operating. Visitor numbers were fairly sparse.

Lots of olde world charm in this place with the usual historic buildings and vehicles - school house, bakery, printery, theatres, post office and telephone exchange. Don't miss the Hall of Flame with its extensive display of fire appliances, including one for the children with dress-up to match. Rides include a steam train, rail car, trams and buses. Other displays feature photography, agriculture, friendly societies, aircraft and model railway. Something for everyone of all ages!! Not totally wheel-chair friendly in all areas.
