Had a fantastic time walking around the gardens with my friend. We went for a coffee in the cafe and it wasn't over priced and was really refreshing. It was the end of summer and had a slight chill in the air but still warm enough to have a gentle walk around before heading to the museum thats at the other end of the park.

Near city center the botanical gardens gives a welcome refute from concrete buildings. A small (on jungle scale) garden with small lakes and flower garden.
Having the museum on its edge makes it more attractive to History enthusiast.

Christchurch really is the most English of cities with these extensive gardens surrounding the city. Highlights are all signposted are in easy walking distance with easily marked trails. Best time to come would be spring as in autumn the foliage is quite bare and loses much of its colour. Highly recommended as a wedding venue though!

The garden is very beautiful and has good statues and decorations. If you like a good stroll in the garden then you would definately like this garden.

Picture if you will, a tropical island floating peacefully In choppy waters. This is what the botanic gardens are for me. Step out of the hustle and proverbial bustle of the streets and into the serenity of the gardens to take time and relax. I often will eat my lunch here during the day to collect my thoughts. It's bliss.
