It was our first day in New Zealand. Two very tired hungry travelers arrived at the hotel early. We were greeted warmly by desk staff. We had a meal in the restaurant. I’ve never had chickpea masala in a Hilton before, an it was amazing! We ate breakfast there daily. Our room was clean and well cared for. There was no one at the hotel who was rude or unprofessional. On checkout, when asking about a taxi, Perisi immediately hailed one for us. This hotel is what hospitality is all about. The staff are superb, our room was perfect and the food was good. Just trying to figure out how to come back.

Do not be fooled by the somewhat dated exterior of this establishment. The service and quality of the accommodation, their staff and dining options fully outshines the outer. The food was delicious and those staff we had dealings with excelled. Would definitely look at Chateau on the Park should we be travelling this way again.

Cannot fault the service in this hotel and its very clear that the staff have been really thoughtfully trained across all facets of the business. After a skiing holiday where almost every business had lackluster service due to 'staffing issues' this hotel seemed well run, fully staffed and faultless. I can imagine that it is the way they treat their staff that has given them such a good retention rate in these strange post covid times. From check in to meals to the bar to seeing staff in the hallways - all our friendly and knowledgeable and nothing is a problem - we really thought this was some of the best service e have experienced and that is saying something as stay in Four Seasons Hotels etc abroad.

In terms of the actual hotel - yes, its dated but perfect for a family stay
