This is a really nice small hotel.
We booked spur of the moment while down in Ōtautahi for a tangi. It was the perfect sanctuary.
Dinner and wine list was great. Room was quiet and very comfortable. Byredo toiletries are a nice touch.
We left early so did not have breakfast but the coffees/hot chocolates were great.
We had a car - parking costs extra but was conveniently right next door.
Can’t fault it!

We stayed here as part of our "mini-moon" after getting married in Queenstown and traveling around the South for a week in an RV, and it was exactly what we needed!
They made our stay truly special by upgrading our room and providing some of the best service we've ever experienced.
The Room:
The room was huge! We had an amazing view towards the mountains and the bed was super comfortable, with the addition of being able to choose from a pillow menu for those who prefer a different type of pillow to the ones they provided. The mini-bar was included in our room and the bathroom was fantastic with great lighting, a rain shower and quality finishings. The only downside was that even on a cold day, the room was right in the afternoon sun and was pretty hot when we arrived, but a quick boost of the aircon made it comfortable.
The Service:
The check-in staff were incredible and explained their little iPad system to us, and also gave us a free cocktail voucher and unlimited barista coffees! Their cafe and restaurant is really nice and the staff there were great as well!
Overall:
Next time we're in Christchurch, we'll be making sure to stay here again!

The staff at the Mayfair Hotel Christchurch were expectational. Extremely friendly. The rooms were well appointed and very clean. The breakfast was excellent and could not fault. I have been to Christchurch many times; I mean many times in excess of forty on business and this place is one of the best I have ever stayed at.
