It is hard to put into words how magical our stay at The Marlborough was. Indeed, in a lifetime of travel, it was our all-time favorite hotel experience. The buildings and property are brimming with history and charm. The location is outstanding. The restaurant, Harvest, was the best food we had in all of New Zealand. But it’s the people here that make the place so incredible. Every detail is thought through, and every touch is customized. We received a personalized card in our room each night, and the pre-dinner drinks and canapés were as if one was being hosted by your closest, kindest friends. We were on the fence booking this property given the relatively high room rate, but it was beyond worth every penny. They are generous and do not nickle-and-dime their guests. We simply cannot say enough positive. Book your stay immediately! You will have fond memories for years to come. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!

Perfectly balanced leisure with refined luxury. The staff was very attentive and almost next time they saw you were calling you by name. You never saw housekeeping but you room was magically serviced when you returned. Both morning and evening turndown.
The property is beautifully landscaped. I believe the house was redone during Covid and it is beautiful all by itself. From the artwork to the wallpapers just beautiful.

From the moment our family checked in, we were welcomed by the warm and friendly staff and taken care of like royalty throughout our 3 day/night visit. The property is breathtaking and the “lodge” is beautifully decorated - with the comfort of what you dream your home to be. The restaurant is as wonderful, with the food being among the best we’ve had in New Zealand! Nick the chef is top notch - both his cooking talent and his personal touch to come out and talk about his creations and make us feel special. The staff were all exceptional- special call out to Miqu, who made each meal fun and most enjoyable. If I could give 10 stars I would … truly one of the best from someone who has been to many great hotels around the world. Hope to be back!!!
