We were in Blenheim for a two day wine tour, and unfortunately only got to spend one glorious evening at this beautiful Lodge... we were warmly welcomed and made to feel right at home and really enjoyed our stay. Our room was sumptuous and comfortable, modern yet charming. All the conveniences that one would expect and then some-- the warm tile bathroom floor, the lavender scented bath crystals, the cashmere bedding, a cute little bottle of wine for the two of us to share... it was wonderful and we can't wait to go back someday and spend more time at the lodge, walking thru the beautiful gardens and sitting near the outdoor fire in the cool evenings when the sun goes down. Thank you for making our trip to Marlborough that much more memorable, Karen. We look forward to our next trip to Blenheim and will definitely include a stay at the Lodge again!

Dear SDJCruiser

Thank you for choosing to stay with us we are so glad to hear that you enjoyed our Lodge and have taken the time to review it. I have to agree that it is very nice having those warm bathroom floors to walk across on the colder mornings and we are very fortunate to have found a local maker of the lavender bath crystals which are define to soak in at the end of the day that is if you can drag yourself away from star gazing out by the fire!!
We look forward to welcoming you back when you next come this way and hopefully you will have a little more time to stay and enjoy all that we have there whilst you sample the wines of the area

As locals - We have for a long time meant to go to the Marlborough Lodge for dinner but never seemed to have the time.
Well we did so last night and had one of the most amazing evenings ever since making the move South.
The Marlborough Lodge is set off the roadway and up a long driveway lined with lavender and daffodils. As you drive up - the silhouette of this stunning building greets you.
We were met by Karen McDonald who manages the property and she welcomed us with a glass of Mahi Chardonnay and a tour of the building. Wow!!! So clean and everything in its place. It is clear from the outset that Karen is very proud of the property and that she has a unique and special relationship with the owners and her staff.
Dinner was mind-blowing! Executive Chef Sam Webb is indeed a well kept secret. His presentation and use of local produce was outstanding and his passion for quality food was evident throughout. We were fortunate to have Sam come out and introduce himself which is always a treat. NB - the clams were sensational!!
We had a wonderful evening at the Marlborough Lode and can’t thank the team enough. As a local - if you have never been to the Marlborough Lodge - then you should. You are very privileged to have something so very special right at your back door!

Just Spent two nights there and we couldn’t have been more impressed with the comfortable, impeccable acccomodations and gracious service set amidst a picturesque property with endless vistas. Sophisticated contemporary furnishings blended with charming old world details result in a tranquil yet elegant atmosphere. We enjoyed delicious meals and evenings by the outdoor fireplace. This is an absolutely stunning property with an absolutley lovely, welcoming staff. We were sad to leave!

We spent 3 nights here and were enthralled with the hospitality - the team, led by Angela and Martin, is engaging and has great stories about the property and the region. The chef, Sam, is gifted and the food is world-class delicious and fresh...most ingredients from nearby farms. The location is perfect for wine tasting and exploring the Marlborough Sound. What a gem! You’ll enjoy every minute here from the gorgeous soaking tub to the spacious gardens. Thanks Angela and team for a memorable experience!

This lovely colonial building has been redecorated to perfection with individualized spacious and elegant bedrooms and bathrooms. The grounds offer shaded walks under mature trees by a stream and ponds, include a heated pool and a special stone fireplace which features as an enjoyable before dinner meeting place - all quite magical. The staff are friendly and welcoming and appear just as required. The Chef Sam and his assistants provide an internationally imaginative menu from excellent local produce.

I will pass along your comments to Sam and the rest of the team as they strive to make each experience unique and to know that they are doing so is very much appreciated.

We hope to see you back our way soon
