Great beds, friendly staff, on the high street. Quirky rooms with mini bar and a fantastic shower! The complimentary Port was a lovely touch at the end of the evening, after a fantastic meal in the restaurant.

Room Tip: Rooms 2 & 5 were very comfortable!

My parents, husband and myself dined at Hotel d'Urville in May 2016. It was lovely and the owner of the restaurant was fantastic at making sure we had everything we required to enjoy an amazing dining experience. The food was beautiful at came in just the right portions, at the right time and all care was taken so we enjoyed an amazing experience there. Keep up the good work staff at Hotel d'Urville! We will be back for sure!

My husband and I chose the hotel for its proximity to the wonderful Blenheim wineries. Pluses include on site parking; location to in town eateries. Size of our room was unusual as it was long and narrow. We had twin sized sleigh beds which were oversized and very comfortable. In addition they had electric blankets which proved useful to take the chill off. The negatives were lack of outlets to charge our IPads and IPhones. I had to climb under the bed and unplug lamp to find plugs. While the room had ability to brew a cuppa -- no outlet. Lastly the room had lovely decor but very little, if any drawer space for storage. With all I've noted would stay again when next in Blenheim.

We stayed two nights in the large d'Urville room. It was very well appointed and decorated with pictures and furniture totally in keeping with the theme of the hotel about the French explorer and cartographer Dumont d' Urville.
The building is a converted Public Trust office with large vault type doors in evidence to lend authenticity. Although in the middle of the town we found it very quiet and restful.
We enjoyed a superb evening meal and two great continental breakfasts, although a full breakfast is on offer.
The hosts are improving the communications within the hotel and have free wifi in every room. Our hostess gave us accurate local information and made useful suggestions.
We are in the accommodation business ourselves and can thoroughly recommend this establishment.

Room Tip: d'Urville room.

Stayed at The d'Urville as our base to explore the Marlborough Wine region. We were greeted by Anita who warmly welcomed us, assisted us with parking, helped with our luggage and booked us a wine tour - fabulous service. As it was our anniversary we had been allocated the "Angel Room" which was absolutely perfect for the occasion. The room certainly did have the wow! factor complete with a four poster bed, vintage furniture and fittings, crisp white linen and a nicely stocked mini bar. The d'Urville was situated in the heart of town and walking distance to bars and restaurants, we were able to enjoy a nice night cap in the upstairs foyer of a complimentary nip of port which was a lovely touch after a long day exploring. We look forward to coming back to this charming hotel in the future. If you want a truly unique and special experience in Blenheim you must stay at The d'Urville!
