Great Choice and Company

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 3 Feb 2021
From the moment we entered this beautiful property we knew the experience would be great. The building and grounds are beautiful. The room comfortable and spacious and the privacy and outdoor spaces great.

The hosts are friendly and interested with a good knowledge of the local area to guide guests in restaurant and activity choices. The location is excellent and allows easy access to Blenheim, vineyards and attractions.

The breakfast was outstanding. Lots of choice, homemade and served in a beautiful, elegant room. I would definitely recommend and return to Peppertree if in the area.

We stayed three nights at Peppertree and loved the experience.
Accommodation is very classic and classy, with large suites and good ammenities.
Our hosts were excellent and very gracious. Nothing too much trouble.
We had breakfast each day - simple but classic cold selection, plus great eggs and whatever on request.
Location is great for access to the city and main roads north and south. Just a lovely place to stay.

A light, airy, and well-fitted room, in a beautiful house. The hostess was gracious, welcoming, and helpful. The gardens are lovely, and the whole ambience of the place was relaxing. Wish we'd been able to stay longer....

Very left feeling very relaxed and wishing we could have stayed at least another night. Heidi is such lovely host. We enjoyed meeting other guests around the breakfast table which was great to swap experiences. Couldn’t have done more to cater for my wife’s gluten free diet. Easy to recommend.

Lovely hosts in a beautiful setting. Breakfast was great as you got to chat to other guests and get good advice about where to go next. Super handy for Blenheim and it's winery's and great places to eat. Can't wait to go back.

Room tip: Heidi makes a fab platter (notice needed) if you don't want to drive after your road trip (the house wine goes down very well too!).

The website photos suggest that this is peaceful and that you are looking at the rear of the property. In fact, that lovely photo was taken some while ago and it is the front of the premises. The rear is used by the hosts as their garden. The result is that there is quite a lot of road noise and you sit out overlooking the driveway. The swimming pool had just been repaired apparently and was therefore freshly filled with very cold water! It was also not clean and it’s quite small. More of a splash pool. The Peppertree is just a little ‘tired’ too. The very weathered sign says it all.
That said, the hostess was very pleasant and the room and the breakfast was very adequate. It’s okay, we would stay there again - but only if there was nothing better and available nearby!
