After travelling From Taupo the centre of the North Island, and then a boat ride across the ocean to find a motel a few minutes down the road from Picton, One was so happy to come across an excellent motel, spotless, fresh, comfortable just what everyone needs after 5-6 hours of driving them a 4-5 hour boat ride, so pleasing and grateful, thank you soooo much, would definitely stay there again, Awesome, Thank you.

It is always easy to host guests who know what they want. It makes it much simpler to cater to their needs. And its always nice to host kiwis coming back from Australia.
We have stayed at the Montana Lodge before and found it as we remembered it - clean, comfortable, spacious, friendly, with good cooking facilities. This time the weather was warm enough to make use of the pleasantly sited swimming pool. Having an individual carport is a bonus.
There is just one small downside for us in choosing the Montana Lodge. The choice for a couple is really between a studio unit (fine for a night but not so good for a longer stay) and a two-bedroom (wasteful because of paying for the unneeded extra room), Although one-bedroom units are on offer, they are set up for families, with a double bed in the living room and twin beds in the bedroom, which doesn't suit us.
However, knowing this, we still chose to go there to enjoy again the other things which make it a good place to stay!

Stayed at Montana Lodge for one night at the end of a VERY long 32 hour journey from London. After 3 flights and very little sleep we were cranky and couldn't wait to have some food and rest. Pete and Mag went well out of their way to make our stay very comfortable! They had moved our room to one that was tucked away from any source of noise as well as being a little bigger so we could spread out and sort our luggage out after the long trip. They also went well out of their way on several other occasions to help us out, not because they had to but because they genuinely wanted to help. As well as excellent help from the staff, the room was spotless and very clean!
It's easy to host guests when you have all the details. Life is to short to make it complicated. It is enjoyable to host such responsive guests. Have a safe journey
The Montana Lodge Motel was chosen because of it's closeness to the township and Supermarket. It was also priced at an economical price. The owner was very pleasant on arrival giving all information as to what we could see in the area as well as showing me the laundry facilities etc. The unit was clean and tidy with a good comfortable bed. The owners are presently upgrading all the units which should be completed by Christmas. Highly recommend staying. The price is right.
We love making our guests lives easier. Blenheim / Marlborough has a lot to offer and if we can make it easier for our guests to find their way around then that's what we enjoy doing. Great tips on unit preference. It's always nice to host nice guests.
A great place to stay. Clean, quiet and friendly informative proprietors. Added value being able to help ourselves to their garden (which we forgot to do) but the offer was there. Excellent value for money. Would happily stay at Montana Lodge Motel again. Thanks Marg :)
The edible garden compliments the cooking facilities provided in the units. Whether you just want to sit in the garden and relax in the sunshine or in the shade of the lemon tree, it is a great place to unwind. It pleases us too see our guests using the facilities we provide.
