I would highly recommend Lee & Geoff Swifts Molesworth Tour Company - wonderful to phone, Lee answers (no ansafone menu) and gives sound advice about what to pack.
The tour was very informative and it was a bonus to learn so much about the Marlborough wine industry including a visit to Yealands state of the art establishment and a pruning lesson from my evening hosts.
Trip Highlights:
The warm welcome and gracious hospitality from families at homesteads visited
Outdoor picnics which magically appeared from the back of the van
Morning tea at Lake Tennyson, stunning scenery and perfect silence
Majestic high country scenery in autumn garb with accents of snow
And best of all our guide Geoff who made the trip so much fun. He is a gifted raconteur
with a fund of knowledge about the area and the people who lived here. He brought history to life with his stories of people and events in this harsh region.
SO GLAD I PUT MOLESWORTH ON MY BUCKET LIST

As a well travelled NZer, I thought that I had seen it all. After taking the Heritage Tour, lead by their great tour guide Trevor, I am now more informed about the history and the Marlborough wine industry, and quite frankly stunned at the magnificent scenery of the region.
The van was comfortable, the food was fabulous but the best part was that I got to meet the locals who were extremely gracious in opening their homes to us. I also got up close and well informed about the salt works.
We are not very good about being tourist in our own country but I would recommend to anyone to take the tour, you will see more, and hear more and learn things about your own country that you didn't know. For me that was all about the 1855 earthquake!!

We recently completed the two day Tour of The Moesworth. The guides on this trip have a wonderful association with the area and were able to knot together the historic background with today's modern society. As well as imparting this knowledge, they made the trip interesting and fun. The landscape is huge, the colours are stunning and one acknowledges the hardships of the pioneers. We highly recommend this company - you won't be disappointed!

We recently did the last Molesworth Cycle Tour of the season with a group of 10 friends. We had a really fun time. One of the highlights was visiting and having lovely meals with the local farmers on their remote properties. When we awoke at the comfy shearing quarters at Upcot station on the second day, we were surprised to see it was snowing! Quite surprising for early April. No cycling that day but after a snow fight we spent the afternoon in the hot pools in picturesque Hamner. The views while cycling the next day were magical with snow on the high country. There were lots of photo opportunities. We were well catered for with delicious meals, interesting commentary about the history of the area, and comfortable accommodation. We visited some historic buildings along the way and enjoyed good fun times on Molly the Molesworth bus ! Staying at the historic Tophouse B&B was another highlight. All in all a good trip.

Hey thanks for adding your feedback on Trip Advisor, glad to hear you enjoyed your tour and what the highlights were for you. The snow has been early this year but it makes the scenery all the more beautiful. The autumn colours are stunning at the moment. Best Regards Lee and Geoff
