As a Malaysian myself, the satay and roti canai here is as authentic as you can get!

Chicken was tender and the peanut sauce was tasty but beef was slightly hard and chewy for my liking.

Unfortunately I only tried these 2 items.

Hope that helps.

Dam i am going to miss this place!
One one of the best meals I had in 3 weeks all over NZ.
I forget the name of the dish but it was a bunch of seafood in a slightly spicy coconut soup.
Cheap fast and delicious.

Did not skimp on quality and quantity as most asian restaurants do, and we know authentic Malaysian cuisine very well. Clearly the best we have ever had in Wellington, and for that matter anywhere. Value was fair as well. Definitely back soon. Hope it remains the same.

Satay / peanut sauce was exceptional too.

Rojak was very good, and this is a dish that i am personally never order as it always is a disappointment.

Roti Chenai was well made, but a a little too sweet. The rice was also a bit overcooked.

Nice to see the chef, calm and cool.

Top end of Cuba St. holds a small restaurant that will set your taste buds whirling, Malaysian cuisine, expertly prepared such delicate flavours with just the right amount of spice. Not a hugh menu but then that only means more attention is paid to how meal is prepared. BYO Yum

When we used to live in Wellington we had a couple of favorite Malaysian restaurants, bandong country kitchen and satay kampong. With these gone we were thrilled to discover this little gem. Fresh and authentic is what I look for and this was cheap as chips to boot. Fabulous. We will be back.
