We stayed in the studio, which was very clean and nicely decorated. You need to walk up a lot of stairs to come to the studio and location wise to the city centre it is not/less suitable if you dont have a car. Even though we did not had any plans for self catering, this is definitely not possible in the studio but was advertised.

1. Regarding self-catering: the Studio Kitchenette is not large and does not have an oven. It does, however, have a plug in hot plate with pots and a fry pan, a microwave, a fridge, a toaster, a kettle and a Nespresso coffee machine.
2. According to Google Maps we are 1.7km from the Wellington Railway Station. Whilst a car is helpful, many guests are happy to walk this distance (it's down hill to get into town and uphill to return) or there is a bus stop right at the gate that will take you there in 5 minutes.
Orchard Street has been the perfect 'home away from home' for our family on returning to NZ from overseas. Catherine and her family have been wonderful hosts, reponding quickly to any requests we had during our 8 week stay.
We stayed in the balcony suite and enjoyed the incredible views over Wellington Harbour. We had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and having the outdoor space and play area was a bonus.
The location was perfect for us for work, school and shopping needs.
We highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.
We stayed in the Studio for 3 nights and received the most cordial welcome from Catherine, who also did our laundry during our stay (much appreciated!). We loved everything about this really cool, modern, wonderful wee suite. It is beautifully decorated with all that we needed. The view is unbeatable, the WiFi ultra fast and reliable, the bed comfortable and the location handy to the CBD and Stadium. We will definitely be back and would definitely recommend the Studio to others.
Our family stayed in the Balcony Suite for 8 weeks and it really was a perfect home away from home. It was well appointed with everything we needed and was tidy and well maintained. To top it all off it provides a fantastic view of the harbour which was a pleasure to wake up to. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Orchard Street Boutique accommodation.
Good stay at Orchard Street. The studio is up two flights of steps overlooking the Westpac Stadium and harbour area. Good walk into town and the return is uphill. The studio is modern and has an adequate separate bedroom and interestingly designed bathroom. The seating area is adequate if you spend time out and about. The only quibble is that there is only a hot plate and no cooker should you want to eat in after a long day.
