This B&B is situated in an elevated position, from which the centre of Wellington is easily accessible on foot. Our room was at first floor level and was clean, comfortable and fairly spacious with a selection of teas and coffee provided. Our ensuite bathroom felt slightly cramped and old-fashioned, but was perfectly adequate. The hostess, Jane, is evidently an accomplished writer, and we found her pleasant, interesting to talk to, and friendly, also a helpful source of local information. Breakfast was good. As we needed to catch early ferry on the morning of our departure, Jane prepared our 7.00 am cooked breakfast personally, but we could have opted to have breakfast on the ferry, in which case she'd have made a deduction from the B&B price. The off-street parking for this B&B doesn't belong to the property, but is in a public parking area adjacent to it.

We arrived on the inter island ferry from Picton and had a large camper van which we were able to park in the drive. The area is old Wellington & the house was just as I had expected. Full of books and lived in!! Jane was there when we arrived and was very welcoming made us a lovely cup of tea. Showed us a map of Wellington & where everything is, including Te Papa museum local restaurants and lots of informative local information. We had the downstairs room with the bus stop outside but it didn't keep us awake. Our room was spacious and clean and the shower whilst quirky worked a treat. Location wise it's perfect for exploring Wellington centre. Breakfast the next morning was cereals fruit yoghurt and a cooked breakfast delicious. Lovely place and people.

This is a very quaint B&B ideally located for the city. The rooms are comfortably furnished but the overriding memory will be Jane, who apart from running the house is also an accomplished author. Jane was very welcoming, our one regret being that we only spent a short time with her given that we only stayed one night as the schedule is tight

This B&B is located right on the edge of the city right next to great hikes and only a 15 minute walk into the center of he city. Spacious and nice rooms with a great breakfast in the morning. Jane is a great host and offers up lots of suggestions.

The property is dark, smells musty and needs updating. Didn't find anything quirky about the dust and the stained bathroom with previous guests' hair in drainage. Cluttered and a bit grim. Question the hygiene in the kitchen. Not a good experience for us.
