My friend and I walked around to Oriental Bay (one of my hangouts as a teenager) from the city on a beautiful day. It was lovely to see the old houses and church perched up on the hill. there are plenty of cafes to have refreshments and easy to catch a bus back into the city or through to the train station. Great to see my old hangout Beachcomber now called Beachbabylon still there. Oh the memories!!!!

A great place to relax, with cafes, swimming pool and lovely water bay views. Enjoy the view of boats or ships sailing too.

Not far from Tepapa and other well known Wellington sights, oriental bay is a great place for a scenic walk.

There are plenty of things to watch here, from people rollerblading to sunbathers, you won't be alone for long.

The views are amazing and great for photo ops, also there are plenty of coffee shops along the way.

My partner did say that it looked a bit like it was from the 70s, it does have that sor of look..in a good way.

Worth a trip.

very vibrant place on a nice day, watch the ferries in and out of port, little boats, canoes, dragon boats, people jogging, walking cycling, plenty of eateries, cafes, ice cream, swimming at the beach (warm day), fryberg swimming pool, tugboat restaurant, pleanty of fish being caught in particular Kaiwahi, great place to just sit and enjoy a coffee or ice cream with friends, just watching the water.
