Came with a washer dryer, but....

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 23 Mar 2020
I agree with one reviewer that it was dark. My room had windows but they faced the inside of the building so very little light could get into the room. It is an old building with "character" and comes with a small kitchen. The TV was okay but stations limited to anything to get excited about. Grocery nearby as well as MANY restaurants. It is a distance from the ferry so a taxi is required. There were 3 packets of instant coffee and not replenished for the second day; use tea instead! I loved having the washer and dryer and having talked to the young man at the desk I had no problem using them. FYI the desk closes 8pm and the front door is locked so if you are out after that, be sure you know how to get in! There isn't anyone at the desk in the morning until 9am, so if you need a taxi have a plan. I had a bit of an issue but calling from the room to a "contact person" who called for the taxi worked. My trip organizer booked for me so I have no idea the pricing and whether it was "fair".

Room Tip: The old elevator is not "silent" and I discovered my room was close to it!

Stayed 2 nights here in February. The hotel is very basic and more suited to business travellers. It is apartment style. Our room had 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a lounge/kitchen. Beds were big and comfortable, plenty of pillows, nice selection of bedding. The rest of the room was clean and tidy, but pretty basic. If you are staying over on business it is ideal. WiFi was simple to set up and fast enough to stream a movie. Pricing was average for Wellington. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We booked a one bedroom apartment for one night, found the space to be very cramped and dark, with 2 small windows looking out at office buildings. Glad we had just a short stay. On the plus side, facilities for making our breakfast were good. The location is great with shops and restaurants nearby and waterfront is close. The unit had a washer/dryer, unfortunately the instruction sheet did not seem to be for the model we had, made doing laundry more difficult. The bathroom was very small and had no space at all for personal toiletries.

This was a two bed room apartment. It is very conveinient for the town, there is a gym that we didn't use and good wifi.
there is a microwave, fridge, freezer and some crockery and cutlery if you want to cook but there are so many good places to eat around here - why would you!
Clean, good sized rooms and comfortable - can't go wrong.

A quick night in Wellington whilst passing through was very disappointing from the outset. Being asked to pay a $200 bond simply because there was a beer festival going on was insulting. We weren't attending said festival and are far removed from your archetypal beer swilling hoons and whist you can't judge a book by its cover you also don't have to tar everyone with the same brush.
A supposed upgrade seemed an oxymoron when we arrived in our room. Opening the door into a very uninspiring lounge/kitchen area with no cosiness whatsoever made us wonder where the bed was. Turned out to be behind the door in what was little more than a cupboard. There was no more than a metre around the bed and if the sliding door had been closed, acute agoraphobia might have resulted.
The property was clean, the one member of staff we encountered was efficient though unconcerned by my feeling about the bond. Location is central and price was reasonable however I'd rather pay a tad more next time for something that doesn't resemble a pared down youth hostel room.

Stayed here for three nights for work. I was in Room 9F. This room has some kind of vent outside that runs for around 20 minutes, making a heck of a racket, then goes quiet for about 10 minutes, then the noise starts up again. I put up with this the first night till 9:10pm, when I rang reception to ask if anyone has mentioned this to them. The staff member who answered the phone said, no, no one had mentioned this, and she would just check with the duty manager. She came back to tell me that actually, the noise stops about 9:30pm. So obviously someone had mentioned it to them. Anyway, aside from the noise, the room was tidy, clean and warm. All good points.
The fitness centre is also a handy, easy to access room, which is most appreciated.

Room tip: Avoid 9F if you can
