I lived in Italy for a year and had the opportunity to go to Venice several times. This place is as close as it gets to eating in the little establishments (cichetti) next to the fish market. Seriously. The preparation, ingredients, aromas and condiments are spot on! The fritto misto, for example, is exactly what you would get in Venice. Same thing with the cod bruschetta or the polpette (meatballs). Basically, these are the Italian version of the famous Spanish tapas (not sure why the latter are more famous than the former though, as both are excellent!) And then you have amazing, creative dishes like the squid ink gnocchi (oh my!) or the salame di cioccolato (chocolate salami). This place is a strong 5 stars, any day, any time, anywhere in the world.
