Great industrial interior, beautiful food. But we ordered all dishes at the same time (thinking they were starters and main courses) which resulted in a very hasty dinner as everything was served all at once. Our bad, we should have listened to the waiter.

A warm, fulfilling and welcoming dining experience. Good for small groups or romantic dates. The service is v good - the waitstaff are attentive and very helpful if you have questions. The food is absolutely perfect. It's so amazing and authentic and they even cater for vegetarians. A highlight was the squid ink gnocci. A favourite spot for sure.

I lived in Italy for a year and had the opportunity to go to Venice several times. This place is as close as it gets to eating in the little establishments (cichetti) next to the fish market. Seriously. The preparation, ingredients, aromas and condiments are spot on! The fritto misto, for example, is exactly what you would get in Venice. Same thing with the cod bruschetta or the polpette (meatballs). Basically, these are the Italian version of the famous Spanish tapas (not sure why the latter are more famous than the former though, as both are excellent!) And then you have amazing, creative dishes like the squid ink gnocchi (oh my!) or the salame di cioccolato (chocolate salami). This place is a strong 5 stars, any day, any time, anywhere in the world.

We went out for dinner with a friend when he visited, and decided to try Ombra. The tapa style meal was perfect considering we hadn't been before and weren't sure what to try. The staff where helpful, the food was yummy and only cost us $24 each. The only thing I could really fault was that I didn't understand a lot of the menu, and being vegetarian I had to ask a lot of questions.

Just keep in mind when ordering the meals aren't big.

Beautiful Pollo Pizzette, well textured and perfect size for a snack or light lunch. I'm waiting to watch the All Blacks play rugby this evening as I write this so have, rather greedily, gone for two (stomach liner and all that.)

Great staff, attentive. Authentic atmosphere. My only complaint would be that they need to teach the staff how to pour a pint properly, an inch of head isn't ideal but I'm not one to complain over something so small.

Seriously delicious pizza though, can't comment on the rest of the menu (which looks great) but would recommend. Oh and they serve Peroni so full marks there!
