Great staff help to make staying here even more enjoyable!

The staff make staying at this hotel so much more pleasurable. Every staff member encountered from the lobby, the bar staff, restaurant staff and staff in the club lounge were friendly, warm and welcoming and made no request feel too much trouble. Housekeeping and lovely turn down service was awesome too!
We were given a larger room because of our Accor membership and appreciated the extra space this provided us. Next time we would request not to be in a motorway facing room although this did not impact our sleep too greatly…
If I was to make any suggestions it’d be to address the heating in the bathroom, have some night light options for finding your way to the bathroom and switches and charger points on both sides of the bed instead of just one….
Having said this we very much enjoyed our time at the Sofitel Wellington and would be happy repeat guests next time we visit Wellington.

Fantastic team makes this hotel very special. People are always kind, understanding and genuinely glad to help you with anything they can.
This is so much more than just good service and luxury experience - they put their soul into their day and we have the privileged to be looked after by such amazing people. Front Office and Housekeeping teams are incredibly great.
We have pleasure to be looked after by Komal, Segio, Tony form FO and Kath from Jardin , who add so much value to the hotel!
And last but not least - Jamal, thank you for always relentlessly pursuing the standard and never compromising it! I can spot your hand in so many details !

Good stay, decor a tad dated and garish, cold bathroom!

We had a good stay at the Sofitel in Wellington. The hotel is a bit of a way from the busy spots such as Courtney Place and Cuba Street, but we didn’t mind walking so that was fine.

The valet was very helpful on arrival with taking our luggage to the room and parking our car - the only negative was that we weren’t told a price (so was a bit shocked to find out on checkout that it was $55 a night).

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the bed was very plush - we both slept great. Main gripe is that the bathroom was massive and had no heating, so it was freezing cold at all times.

The breakfast buffet was great quality, a good range and selection, and the pastry selection was also good (even if some of the items could have been cooked a little longer).

This is very typical of an international chain hotel. It’s good quality but very little personal service and the decor is a bit dated.

Room tip: Bit of a walk to the buzzing parts of the city and hotel is on a steep hill. Parking is valet only and very expensive.

Exceptional

I had the pleasure of staying at the Sofitel for a month. It was a fantastic experience, made extra special by the attention to detail by the friendly staff and the food was perfect, especially the morning breakfast with barrista coffee. The bed is super comfortable and the location is great, within minutes of the botanical gardens and downtown. My only criticism would be the air conditioning which was overly active, although that's very much an individual preference.

Very satisfied

A hotel that does what a hotel should do in every aspect. The two dinners we had were just outstanding and if you get a table close enough to the kitchen and chance to watch the head chef do his thing it’s understandable why the food is so good. He lives his job and is taking all his staff on a food journey.
Being picky the only fault is we had to wait a while for a pre dinner drink
