We go so often to Dragon's it's almost our second home! We especially love Yum Char on the weekend. the food is very tasty, plenty of different authentic dishes to choose from, and the service is very good and staff attentive. Just one thing, don't arrive late as they're so popular that you need to be in and out at your allocated time to make the most of the experience.

We do like going there as we find the food super fresh and tasty. Some portions are huge. We love the dim sum, dumplings and whole fish. Only thing we didn’t find to our taste was the sweet and sour soup however everything else it’s fab. Some may find it a bit expensive but I think you get a fab value for money!
We want to go back to try their Yum Cha

Went there tonight ( Monday ) not very busy.
We ordered 4 dishes of Yum Cha... calamari was chewy, spring rolls were over cooked.
Also ordered Beef with seasonal vegetables and rice. No rice bought to the table with the dish so 5 minutes later asked for the rice. A further 10 minutes- still no rice and now our beef dish was cold. So we got them to put our beef meal in a takeaway dish and went to counter. Told the staff at the counter - we didn't eat our meal as we didn't get our rice ( twice asked for ) No apology at all.
All in all - quite a disappointing dinner experience.

I meet some friends here every couple of months. I love the orange beef, fantastic stuff and the best place I've had it.
Great service and atmosphere

We enjoyed excellent stir fried dishes here, along with delicately spiced fried rice that appealed to us because of its unusual lightness. We ordered pork and chicken, both with seasonal vegetables, to satisfy a hankering for what we think of as "classic" Chinese fare, amid so much locally and rather murkily described as "fusion."

In retrospect, our standard choices didn't do justice to this restaurant's large, interesting, and diverse menu -- a whole page of King Prawn! -- but we'll surely return to sample more.

The restaurant's atmosphere is pleasant, with appealing decor in the bright style so often featured in restaurants specializing in oriental cuisine. We liked it, especially when it was still pretty empty and we could look around.

Although there are quite a lot of tables, they're not packed in. Because we were among the first to arrive for dinner, at 5:30 PM, we got a quiet spot next to the wall. Good thing. By 6:00 PM the place was hopping. So, a word to the wise: be sure to make a reservation, especially on weekends, and try to come early it you enjoy dining with less hubbub.

The people who work here are friendly and solicitous. They seem very earnest in wanting to make everything perfect for their customers. Service is quick, and what is delivered to the table is piping hot from the kitchen.

Given the large number of people who come here -- and many of them seem to be regulars -- it's not surprising that things are done efficiently. If you're down to the last bites of a particular dish, you may want to hold onto the plate so it isn't prematurely whisked away to make room for the next course or the next group of guests. This happened to us twice, but we were quick, too, so the plate stayed, and so did we.

Prices seemed a bit high when we first looked through the menu, but considering the excellent quality and large portions, as well as the very attentive service, we felt that they were reasonable.

Dragons has a good reputation here in Wellington, and it's very popular for both lunch and dinner. Having finally been here, I can see why, on both counts.
