I think the last time I stayed in a room this small and with a plastic shower curtain in the bathroom was when I was backpacking 20 years ago. We referred to it as ‘the cupboard’ for the weekend.
Plus points: hotel was central, the staff were lovely, the bed was surprisingly ok and the shower was hot (although you couldn’t actually stand under it).
However you may have well removed every wall in the building for no less sound-proofing, as when someone walked down the corridor it felt like they were walking thro the room, when someone was in the adjacent bathroom you could hear everything (toilet roll holders need immediately replacing, ridiculous amount of noise and time trying to fight to get the paper out from under the silver lid!) and the windows let in all street noise.
As we had paid under $130 a night, which included express breakfast we couldn’t complain about the price, esp as Wellington was full for WoW and room rates had soared. But I doubt I would ever stay here again. However if you are a heavy sleeper and intend to spend little time in your room, this place would suit.More
