The hotel is well located for the retail area, harbour and cbd. Car parking is easy and connected to the hotel making arrival very simple.
We stayed in a King Classic room which was well equipped, with a large bathroom and walk in shower. The bed was very comfortable.
The hotel beyond the reception is rather dark, dusty and in need of a freshen up.
Breakfast was good but service was poor, plenty of staff but terrible attention to detail, you had to ask for plates to be cleared, hot drinks arrive with no teaspoons, no replacement cutlery just as examples
The chef on the other hand was brilliant very cheerful and obliging.
We understood that the hotel was carrying out refurbishment and were told in advance. Work was being carried out from 0900-1700 and as such from our perspective not an issue as we were hardly likely to be in the room at these times. Disappointingly on the first night we were woken by hammer drills and various noise, it took the hotel nearly an hour to sort the issue including me having to go down to the reception to complain after no initial action. I’m sorry to say even after this work carried on through the night and the next morning albeit less noisy.
