City break

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 2 Jun 2024
As described.
So central for shopping, sightseeing, restaurants and coffee shops. Did not need to use our vehicle which was in the parking garage over the road. The parking was easy to use so not a problem at all.
Would definitely stay again.

Fantastic old school style meets modern luxury. A real balance between charm and practicality. Our room was large and had a desk, two comfortable chairs, large bed, a huge bath and a double shower. All done with Air-conditioning! The staff pleasant and accommodating.

Room tip: The restaurant was a coffee shop & what looked like the back room of the reception area a sandwich bar which was confusing & shut at 2:30pm?

The room was excellent. It had everything we wanted and more. The only disappointment was that we could only stay one night. Restaurants were nearby and it was a short walk from the train station. It was pleasure staying in an historical building.

I always enjoy my stay at the Wellesley. It's in a very good location, close everything you want to see in Wellington and within easy walking distance. The bonus for me is it's proximity to the French embassy for my Visa applications.
Staff are extremely helpful and pleasant at check-in and can summon a cab at the press of a button when you check out.
Good sized rooms and huge bathroom, you have to love the Victorian bath.
Comfy bed and top quality linen, with a choice of pillows with 4 different levels of firmness!!!
We'll be back!!!

So pleased we chose to stay here. A classical delight in the centre of the city. A perfect location for business or travel. Food, drink, shopping, and entertainment close at hand. The unique original architecture is a bonus as the large room was most comfortable and well resourced. We really recommend the hotel as a different accommodation experience.

I received a lovely friendly welcome from Fiona who went out of her way to look after me.
The hotel is brilliantly situated for central Wellington and the waterfront.
The room (Jeffries) was very big the bathroom had a good bath and the biggest hotel shower I’ve ever seen.
Very clean too. I’ll be back …

Room tip: Wellington is easy to get to know by foot but the bus, train and ferry services are great and good value if you buy a Snapper Card locally.
