A big two-bedroom unit with full cooking facilities. In very good condition and excellent cleanliness. Located right on Lambton Quay and only a five-minute walk to the waterfront and Te Papa etc. We walked up to Oriental Bay and swam there for a couple of hours around high tide and walked back to the hotel wrapped in a towel. Awesome holiday.

The Bed was great, room was spacious and comfortable. Everything was clean and tidy, staff were friendly and helpful. My children enjoyed the gym. Would be happy to stay there again. Handy to Lambton Quay and all the shopping and restaurants around the CBD.

Great location right in the heart of the city. The staff are very friendly and helpful and let us have an early check in plus helped with other requests during our stay like a portacot for our son.

it must be at least the fifth time we stayed at city life. the hotel is situated in central wellington, and the lift takes you out into lambton quay. we stayed in a one bedroom apartment, lovely rooms, good kitchen, and washing machine and drier. staff is always friendly and helpful. since we find it difficult to park at the parking place, they accommodated us to park at their premises. when we left and arrived in christchurch we realised we forgot a bag in the room. the receptionist immediately dealt with it in a polite and caring way.

Access * 1 star. Parking is available at $27 per day in a car park building one block away. You will need to be a confident driver for the car park building and if you have mobility issues arrange drop off and pick up as there are steep inclines both way. The parking is also very confusing (block driveway, send someone in with luggage and to get parking card, find out floor and building, go park car, return)
Staff ***** 5 star. Great front of house staff - managing irate clients who believed parking to be included, staying calm under fire. Helpful housekeeping, clean and tidy rooms.
Rooms *** 3 star. These could easily be 4 or even 5 star with some attention. The lounge and dining space in the 2 bedroom apartment is huge and some super sized comfy chairs would be a joy. The air conditioner kept turning itself off, carpet was wrinkly, curtains/blinds did not pull closed (and should be black outs), fixed furnishings are out of date and the showers need domes to stop ceiling sweats. Dump the art (replace with large photos or paintings of wellington) and upsize the television.
Beds *****5 star. Super comfortable. All of us slept well in crisp linens and well weighted comforters.
Location *****5 stars. The parking is painful but you enter the apartments from the Terraces or the 6th floor. Pop back and go to ground to find yourself just a couple of blocks from the Wharf, an easy walk to Te Papa or great shopping.
