Best place to go on a rainy day in Wellington. Our visit this time, specially to se the Surrealist exhibition. Wow! Extradinarily well done. New for me was the transition of Dadaism into Surealism. Exhibition not to be missed. Minor grump: could be a few more seats as a good two hours plus to do justice.

Wellington put on a beautiful sunny day for us and so did Te Papa with the Surrealist Movement .... Da Da too ... a great exhibition.
The caf upstairs had great coffee and cakes - mmmmmm - had to repeat the following day.

A wonderful museum but dont go on school holidays like I did. The noise is atrocious and the kids run everywhere and push and pull on everything. Go when the kids are not on holiday you will appreciate the museum so much better.

We had been to the museum before, so weren't sure if we would go again. So pleased we did. We were there for 4 hours. They apparently change their major exhibits every 3 months. Fabulous hands-on experiences and well worth the visit. We also dined at their cafe. This looks amazing, with all the changes they have done. Fabulous food and great service. Great prices too. Definitely dine there again, when in Wellington.
