We visited the Gallipoli Exhibition: INCREDIBLE!!! A must-see for everyone, no matter their age, nationality or background, even those who have no personal connection with the Gallipoli Campaign of WWI. A fantastic (and emotional) display with interacting components and unbelievably detailed 'human' sculptures courtesy of the very talented artisans @ Weta Workshop. Simply fantastic!!

We spent a full day at Te Papa on a wet day. We planned to visit Te Papa over a 4 day visit, and our last day in the capital was devoted to the complex.

This facility is amazing, and there is something for everyone's enjoyment. Our primary purpose at Te Papa was to enjoy the Terracotta Warriors exhibit, followed by the Gallipoli exhibition.

There was a fee to enter the Terracotta Warriors room, but the remainder of the museum is free. A wealth of history can be learned from every room that is open to the public. We enjoyed the cafes and comfy chairs for morning tea and a late lunch.

Would have loved to spend more time at Te Papa, during our visit. Already planning a revisit to Wellington in the near future.

Definitely worth a look if you are in Wellington. Lots of interactive exhibits. The giant squid and earthquake simulator were the highlights for me!

My first comment is that such a nice spot in the US would have charged a big fee to enter. We could not do it all in a day and will go to do it again.

Visited this museum with my daughter (no option above to say family with adult children!) - we spent 3 days dipping in and out of the museum to do it justice. There is too much to see/do to do it all in 1 go! The different galleries:exhibits are really well presented. The Gallipoli exhibition was on when we were there too and that was fantastic too. Just a fabulous museum!
