Saturday night Visa on a plate Moulin Rose upstairs at Hippopotamus Restaurant a fun event with no commute. Located so close to Te Papa and Oriental Bay made our staycation complete.

Beautifully appointed hotel with fabulous, original art works throughout.
Spacious room with very comfy bed and pillows, large bathroom with freestanding bath, double sinks and walkin shower. Only problem was we had no hot water the night we arrived or the next morning due to a boiler problem. Would have been nice to have been contacted by staff re this matter.
Staff on the whole wereBeaut very welcoming and helpful.
Great location across the road from Te Papa museum and within walking distance of all the central city.

Good location. Comfortable bed.
Negatives:
-Poor servicing and cleaning of room
-Very inconvenient plug sockets beside the bed
-No assistance with luggage
Felt like a very mediocre stay so would probably choose somewhere different next time.

Myself and a few coworkers stayed here as we were also holding a conference in QT's Tamburini Room, and it was quite easily the best hotel experience i've had in NZ. There is so much detail in the art and presentation from the lobby, to the hallways, to the dining area, to the room. I was surprised to find a giant bathtub in my room and a Dyson hairdryer?? And the bed....omg. So comfy. Loved the mix of luxury and quirkiness. Definitely staying at QT again if I have the chance. <3

Overpriced hotel with very poor quality “superior rooms” No workspace, dated/dirty bathroom. The shower didn’t work properly and there was mould on the grout. A soft bed and very tired decor. Probably was great about 20 years ago but obviously no investment made since then. Avoid at all costs.
