For our first time in Wellington, we spent three nights at this property. Overall, it was a pleasant hotel experience, without being terribly remarkable.
We arrived at Wellington Airport and took an Uber to the hotel, the journey time of about 15 minutes and cost of $21.
We were checked in straight away and up to our room in no time. We were on level 10 in the 'Vista' wing, which involved a change of elevator at level 7 to then continue up to level 10.
The room is a decent size with a particularly comfortable king size bed. There is a chair and a little desk and even a small balcony which is nice (including lovely views over the water).
The bathroom was well appointed and contained everything you would want for a decent hotel stay,
As a Queenslander, I always find it a little strange when I stay in hotel rooms with no air-conditioning, but I don't think it's really that unusual in NZ. The hotel did provide a pedestal fan however and keeping the balcony door open also provided sufficient cooling and we slept well.
While nice, the room, and hotel generally, is perhaps looking a little dated and could use a little spruce up. We were also a bit disappointed with the housekeeping. On one day a clearly wet bath mat wasn't replaced and hand towels were replaced with ones which were stained.

There is a good size restaurant and bar on level 7, however we choose to eat and drink in some of the fabulous cafes around Wellington and didn't do so in house.
Staff at check-in and check-out were pleasant and the bar staff greeted us as we passed through to go between lifts each day.
Finally, the hotel is in a lovely location in Oriental Bay, which is about a 15 minute walk from Central Wellington, along the beautiful waterfront.More
