When ever we go to Wellington our son who lives there, always comes up with a lovely restaurant to go to. This time it was the "Siem Reap" a Cambodian restaurant on 99 Dixon St...not far from Willis St. We have never eaten Cambodian before, but we love Thai food. On entering, the ambience was refreshing and well layed out. We were greeted immediatley and taken to our table. The place was buzzing and that's a GOOD sign, The waiter was very polite and helpfull on to what to have. The food didn't take long to come and there was plenty of it.It was fresh and VERY tasty. I couldn't finish mine and it was no trouble for them to put it in a container to take back to our hotel. We would definatly go back next time we are down that way.

The restaurant was quite near our hotel, so we got there by accident. We love Asian food , and dinner was splendid! Very tasteful, fresh, served 'hot' , just as we wished.

Siem Reap is one of the few Cambodian restaurants in Wellington. I found this by accident after asking a taxi driver to take us somwhere that would have seats available when there was a major event on in town. The decour is plaesant and reflects the cultural origin of the cuisine. The waiting staff were very curteous and efficient. We did not have to try to catch their attention when we required more drinks or to oreder more courses. There is a good selection of asian dishes although the dessert menu is maybe a bit light on choice. I have been back twice for lunch since my initial visit which was in the evening for dinner. The quality is very consistent and is always great.
