“OK for a quick snack and a coffee”
Reviewed 21 November 2014

I visit this cafe at least once per trip to Wellington as it one of my son's favourite haunts (my daughter thinks its dark and depressing - go figure!). The café is split into two main areas - we normally go to the area separate from the serving counter because it is lighter and feels more spacious. The coffee is good, the counter food OK and the prices not unreasonable. Never had any problem with service or staff attitude. It is what it sets out to be - an unpretentious café serving reasonable quality fare to people who want a quick bite to eat with a drink at standard Wellington prices.

“Two Words: Liquor Coffee”
Reviewed 7 October 2014

They have a menu of assorted liquors (browns, of course) that you can have in your coffee. How amazing is that? I had two.

“Great for brunch”
Reviewed 4 October 2014

I had brunch here with a friend today and was impressed. This place has being around for ages and sometimes there is a risk that places like this will get complacent and start to let their standards slip. This was not the case here. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food and drinks came out very quick.

We were able to get a table easily and both enjoyed beef nachos which were huge. This place is not pretentious and has reasonably priced food which you don't have to wait around for ages for.

The toilets here are nice and clean to.

This is a great place if you want a casual meal that doesn't cost the earth.

“Eggs bene were amazing”
Reviewed 10 August 2014 via mobile

One of the only places open on a Saturday morning at 8a and definitely worth the visit.
A little expensive for breakfast, approx $50 for two people.
Partner said mocha was amazing, I had peppermint tea in a pot big enough for 3 cups which was great.
We both had the eggs bene with salmon and the hollandaise sauce was to die for. Home made and had a little extra zing that just made it.
Staff were friendly.
Toilet was clean and functional.
