Pulled off the Auckland highway on spec. Didn't eat so can't comment on food.
Wasn't offered tasting so tried their standard cider which was good - crisp, clean dry with fruit without being sweet.
Not much to see or do.

Met friends for afternoon cider sampling and nibbles. Food was basic but all the dishes we tried were tasty. Cider was goooood. We started with sampling paddles then all enjoyed our favourites in bigger glasses! Staff were all outstanding. Brilliant system of pressing a (silent to us!?)buzzer on our table, and the staff came running always with a smile Kitchen closes at 5pm but they happily prepared us a cheese board at 5.30 - thank you

We enjoyed the range of ciders but were most disappointed with the food. We saw people with huge platters for $48 so it looked good. We ordered the fresh fish fillets $15 and the duck confit $22 and were assured by the woman that they were meals. The 3 pieces of heavily battered greasy fish arrived on a bed of lettuce, no chips or real salad. The duck leg arrived on a similar lettuce bed with an orange dressing. The crispy duck skin had unappetising ends of feathers still there. There was no way they were a meal which we wanted. They were more tapis as the manager explained later "you need to order more than one each". Order the platters for a meal otherwise you will be disappointed. It is a long way to locate this cidery so we would recommend you don't bother. Service was patchy!

Our group ended up at the cider factory for lunch. Well I was pleasantly surprised....friendly staff , good selection of ciders and a menu which was worth a try.
We ordered the two platter trays as there were 8 of us and we were able to try a bit of each dish. There was enough food for us...very tasty and nice to sample a little of each dish.
A very pleasant 2 and half hours spent...was quite full so booking is a good idea.
Well worth a return trip.

We decided to have a casual Sunday lunch with friends at this terrific venue. A little adventure to find it, but with some good signage - the view and set up once you arrive is excellent.

View that looks towards the mount there are a number of outdoor tables with big umbrellas.

The menu is simple but covers a wide variety to tastes with some excellent looking platters that we are going to go back and try out. We had the cheese platter and popcorn chicken. Both were gorgeous.

And don’t forget the cider. Amazing!!! Lots and lots of different options.

Well worth the visit! Definitely going to be back.
