This is a great place to go for walks, feed the ducks, have a picnic. You can even camp over night for a very reasonable fee. Very peaceful and relaxing

The waterfall is beautiful and inviting. Able to hike around the waterfall. BUT the bridge spanning the waterfall is real UGLY and traffic zipping fast around the waterfall viewpoint is unsafe. There is a green brick building next to it disposing wastewater with what look like soap water into the waterfall - beautiful waterfall marred by POLLUTION spring to my mind.

At the foot of the Kaimai ranges, this park provides the ideal place for a quite picnic, There is a small lake a waterfall and acres of park like grounds, harbouring an abundance of local flora and fauna, also a local zoo and amenities. Just want to chill and enjoy your surroundings, make McLaren Falls a place to visit.

Took the opportunity to take the short walk (about half an hour return at 3 year old speed) to the falls. The falls were small but had a nice pool at the bottom and a nice photo op. Everyone liked the walk and our girls viewed it as an adventure as we walked through the trees and abundant ferns.

Nice gentle short walk to a small waterfall. The track is clean and well surfaced in the fabulous green NZ flora and fauna.
Can drive 'gently' right up to the walks start where there is a very clean and tidy loo!
