There were so many breaches of security. The heater in the room didn’t work, the tap in the sink in the bedroom was on a complete swivel, the neighbour's heater or whatever it was upstairs, was so loud our sleep was constantly being interrupted. The window security stay and the window lock didn’t work and the door itself, if shaken would open on its own. The security chain on the main door was broken and detached and as a result you couldn’t secure the door. The water from the shower began to overflow into the bathroom. The heater in the bathroom did not work and the extractor fan in the bathroom did not work and was full of dust.
I reported all these issues to the receptionist who apparently knew about these them, saying she had reported them previously but nothing happened to restore or repair them…..not really a good situation to be conveying to guests. I attempted to fix the tap in the bedroom but it would only be a short term fix as I couldn’t screw the holding nut under the sink with no equipment. Question is why were we put into this room knowing there were these issues with it?
My wife and I were so cold in the room, the bed was so cold….no electric blankets, we came away from your City Suites with a cold for me and bronchitis affecting my wife.
The room itself was clean and tidy, apart from the carpet which was stained. However, the underground car park smelt badly of rotting vegetables.
The receptionist offered us another room but being seniors and we had so quite a bit of gear it would have been a long arduous job, relocating.
We cannot recommend City Suites based on the poor performance of rooms and lack of attendance to rectify the problems. We contacted them again after we returned home and had to send three emails to even receive an acknowledgement from them.
