We stopped by this attraction while leaving Mt. Mauganui and heading to Rotorua. Lucky it was 10am cos we got a carpark right outside but I couldn't help but wonder what parking would've been like later on given that we turned off a gravel road and where we parked can only fit maybe 20 cars so I wouldn't enjoy parking on the gravel road and further away. Make sure you put all personal items in the boot and away from view cos the attraction is located at the bottom of a hill and there is no security. My first impressions was looks like a fun place, there were ropes over head, bouncy things to jump off into the river, and land activities. Not really suitable for 5 & 8 year olds except for the land based activities like wall climbing, slip n slide, obstacle course, wading pool, n trampoline and water activities such as pedallo - actually this is the only one. All that I've mentioned needs cleaning, upgraded, enlarging, and multiplied cos around 11am it was getting full and the kids were getting bored. Our kids couldn't do the jumping into, dropping off, kayaking, hanging onto and so on water/river activities. If you're family is a little older then make the most it do the water/river based activities only then have lunch there and take off.

Thank you for leaving Waimarino a review/comment on Tripadvisor.

Over the summer season we do get extremely busy days with 450+ customers in the Adventure Park, everyone enjoying the summer heat and awesome activities. And in turn, will have an effect on the customer car park. If drivers park smart then there is ample space, but will spill out onto the grass and gravel area. Yes definitely, it is always a good option to stash or hide any valuables in the car or you could bring them down into the park with you.

As well as our public days in the park we have school programs and our After School Adventure Club at Waimarino, so we are kitted out for the ages you have mentioned – we do however ask that everyone can swim if you are to jump in the river.

Sorry that your kids couldn’t jump into the river this time round as this is our main focal point for activities given our location. I am pleased to hear that they were able to make the most of our land activities you mentioned though.

We highly recommend this experience, small place but you won't miss any fun for a whole day stay. Staffs are all friendly. Nice river view, especially relaxing in your kayak whine watching people doing BLOB!

Glad to hear you had a great time at Waimarino Adventure Park. A kayak is certainly a great vantage point for watching the blobbers!

Thanks for your review

Had a great time on the kayak tour. Witnessed great scenery on the way to the glow worm cave. Had a great time on the island with a sliding board into the lake at the end of a pier and also soaking in some of the hot mineral pools above the beach.

A relaxing and beautiful tour: wine and nibbles, a little instruction on how to paddle a kayak, and a lovely twilight river (lake?) to enjoy before we reached the glow-worms. The little glow-worms were amazing to see. Service was casual and friendly.

Such a shame as the activities that are on offer are great, but due to poor staffing we felt we could not do all the activities. They said they were opening the climbing wall we waited and waited and still waited and asked and asked and asked and still nothing.
Thank goodness there was someone there who had been before who helped us with the kayak slide.
The staff seemed more interested in chatting to each other, rather than checking on safety and helping others.
Saying that the children did enjoy the activities that they did.
