It was my first visit to Nomad and I absolutely loved it. The service was fantastic and the food even better. The polenta chips and the pork belly are to die for. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

From the street this place looks like all the others...tables outside, people chatting. Inside, there's tables and chairs. and more people. The service was brisk and pleasant, Pork and black bean soup, delicious. Kingfish, grilled with clams...the fish was cooked perfectly, moist and tasty. The clams were small and tasteless and pointless. That aside this was a really good main. The chocolate thing for desert was excellent. A bottle of Waiheke Shiraz (bloody expensive but excellent) and my meal and night was perfect. Walked back to my motel...and needed the walk I can tell you.

We have been here about three times now and each time we are impressed all over again how wonderful the food is here. The staff, the meal quality and quantity, the presentation, the choices, just amazing. The polenta chips and the pork belly are just sooooooo good. Honestly better than anything we had in France last month. Well done chef and staff !

We booked a table for dinner for 8:30 and arrived on time. Rather than a table in the restaurant we were directed to a high table in the bar with bar stools and were told there was no room in the restaurant. We ordered drinks. When we came to order at 9ish we were told the kitchen was closing and we could only have basically chips and/or bread. When we took umbrage, the waitress spoke to the kitchen staff and we could hear one of them repeatedly yelling “NO!” at her. We asked to speak to the manager, whom the waitress offered to contact on the phone. All of a sudden the kitchen staff decided it would be a good idea to offer starters (but no mains). We left. Absolutely dreadful. I understand this establishment is under new management. Suggest you stay away.
