late night arrival in Taupo to stay at lodge, terrible weather, nice to have keys in collection box as organised and advised by front desk reception James , so helpful.. room allocation perfect as per mobility issues, so near to toilet shower etc, wonderful facilities, nice quiet area , basic room and bed are good, friendly staff on check out,.

Haka Lodge is a back packers rather than a lodge. The place was clean and tidy with all facilities operating correctly. I felt the cost was a little on the high side for us. The upside being the township was within walking distance for us. Will try another place on our next visit.

Helpful staff who were very accommodating. The beds were comfy, and generally great facilities. Location is ideal too.
Check-in and check-out was easy. Would highly recommend if looking to stay in Taupo.

We booked this place because it was cheap and close to the town centre. It was easy to find and easy to check in. Our room was clean and the beds comfortable although unfortunately we were right next door to the shared bathroom, so we heard a lot of comings and goings during the night. The off street parking was a bonus.

Had a comfortable stay. The manager placed a map for me in a safe box to find my room as I was coming late, which I think is really kind.
Wifi speed was the fastest I have seen among all the hostels that I have ever lived.
