We only had the address for this stop but their website gave good detailed instructions on how to find it, as it is a few kilometres outside Taupo. It is situated on a hill with commanding views of the lake and Taupo itself. We pulled up and the welcome could not have been more pleasant. What a lovely house / bijou accommodation that this lady (and husband) have created. We were shown to the Honeymoon Suite. This is a self-contained cottage. A large double bed, big sofa, tv and fire to snuggle in front of in bad weather. A kitchen with large fridge / freezer and a microwave. All the utensils you could want and, while there is no cooker, there is a BBQ outside. The bathroom has his'n'her sinks, his'n'her showers and a spa (for two) which again had a view over the lake and full width window that opens. While this is the Honeymoon Suite speaking to another couple of guests - there is only three couples it can accommodate - they were equally impressed with their rooms. There was an 'Ironman' event in town when we arrived and the town was busy so our host even made reservations at a restaurant for three different times for us to eat should we wish to. That said it would appear that on the 21st March 2017 they will be selling the property. The new owners intend to continue the venture and I hope, and so does Becky - the hostess, that standards will be maintained. I cannot emphasise enough what a tall order this will be as the attention to detail, helpfulness and friendliness is above and beyond 'normal' expectations.

This is a purpose built B&B and what a place it is. The house is stunning with amazing terrace, lounge and breakfast room overlooking the lake. We could lie in bed and see across the lake through a huge picture window. We had a good bathroom, dressing area and a shared kitchen with tea, coffee etc free to help yourself.
Becky entertained us every evening before going out to eat with wine and nibbles. She did a load of washing for me and drove us into town to eat one night.she was most welcoming.
This is a superb place to stay and being out of the main town it is beautifully situated in Acacia Bay, an upmarket suburb round the lake a bit.

Room tip: No such thing as a bad room here and there are only 3 anyway

Our favourite stop on our recent trip to NZ. A luxurious up market B&B a couple of miles outside Taupo in Acacia Bay with views of the lake and nearby Mt Tauhara to die for. Our room was superb and we enjoyed excellent attentive service from the friendly owners, Becky and Rob. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything the town hopping traveller could need with free wine and cheese thrown in. Not to mention the washing machine. Truly a highlight of our trip. We were sorry to have to move on.

We had a very wonderful stay! The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, breakfasts were delicious and very filling, and our room was very comfortable. The view was the best part! We sat on the patio both evenings and enjoyed the beautiful lake view while enjoying some drinks and snacks. We didn't want to leave! Also, we got up early the second morning to watch the sunrise over the lake. It was breathtaking.

We spent two nights here. The view from the bedroom was lovely but such a shame you had to shut it out to afford yourself some privacy whilst sleeping as room also looked out onto main driveway. Becci was a very friendly host and we wish her well with her new venture.
